🪏 Working outside today? Stay safe while working outdoors - try to stay in the shade during the hottest part of the day where possible.

🧴Protect your skin - it may be tempting to skip it if you're pushed for time, but sunburn increases your risk of skin cancer which can develop slowly. So, while sunburn might feel better in a few days, it may have done long term damage which can be serious.

🔎Use sunscreen with SPF30 or higher and at least 4-star UVA protection, or a UVA symbol in a circle.

🤠Wear a hat to help protect your face and neck.

⏳Check your sunscreen - look for the open jar symbol with a number. This shows how many months it is safe to use after opening.

💧Take regular breaks, drink plenty of fluids and look after yourself while working in the heat.

🌡Follow these tips to keep your home cool during hot weather:

• Close blinds and curtains on windows that are exposed to direct sunlight, move to the coolest part of your home and open windows (if it is safe to) when the air feels cooler outside than inside
• A cool living space is especially important for infants, older people or those with longterm health conditions
• Use electric fans if the temperature is below 35°C, but do not aim the fan directly at the body
• Go outside if it is cooler in the shade
