This Recycle Week we’re reminding residents these items can be recycled at the kerbside (and elsewhere) ♻️.
👉 Plastic (all types of bottles, yoghurt pots, fruit punnets, meat trays etc) – at the kerbside
👉 Cartons and Tetra Paks – recycling banks (find your nearest one: www.fdean.gov.uk/bins-and-recycling/recycling-banks-and-centres/)
👉 Soft plastics (carrier bags, breads bags etc) – Larger supermarkets usually have recycling points
👉 Textiles – at the kerbside. Put them in a carrier bag and place in your green box for glass
👉 Electrical and electronic devices – small ones (kettles, electric toothbrushes, hairdryers, blenders etc and cables) are recyclable at the kerbside. Place in a carrier bag on top of your waste bin on your refuse collection day

Fly-tipping is not only an eyesore – it also poses a serious risk to people, wildlife, and the environment.
Fly-tips can:
🚑 Block roads and pathways, potentially delaying emergency vehicles
🐟 Contaminate soil and water with toxic chemicals, poisoning aquatic life and endangering livestock and other animals
🌿 Damage ecosystems, attract pests and disrupt the balance of nature
If you see a fly-tip, please report it. Don’t assume someone else is dealing with it.
If the rubbish is on land under our control, it will be cleared and investigated. If it’s on un-adopted or private land, we may investigate if evidence is found.
Fly-tippers face a £400 fixed penalty notice – whether they dumped the rubbish or someone else did on their behalf. This can be increased to an unlimited fine if convicted in Crown Court.
