Struggling to keep up with rent or Council Tax payments? Extra help may be available.
The Council has a limited fund to support residents who are finding things especially difficult right now.
If you already receive Council Tax Support but are still finding it hard to manage your payments, you may be able to get additional help through the Exceptional Support Fund.
This fund could help for example, if you’re facing unexpected financial difficulties or personal challenges that make it harder to pay your rent or Council Tax.
Each application is considered individually, so if you’re struggling, it’s always worth checking whether you qualify.
We know times are tough - don’t face it alone.

A reminder that Christmas tree collections are continuing tomorrow for those who haven't had their collection yet 🎄.
If you have a real Christmas tree you would like us to collect, please leave it at the kerbside on your scheduled garden waste collection day. We will be collecting until Friday 23 January.
You don't need to be a garden waste subscriber - we will collect trees from all households. Trees should be reduced in size to a maximum of 1.3 metre sections to help crews. Decorations and stands must have been removed.

Gloucestershire's Community Minor Injury and Illness Units (CMIIUs) are there for you this winter.
CMIIUs, like the one in Stroud, are open from 8am until 8pm daily (last 'walk ins' at 7.30pm). There's free parking and patients are seen and treated promptly based on their clinical needs.
You can contact NHS 111 by phone or online for an initial assessment. If appropriate, NHS 111 will arrange an CMIIU appointment for you. It’s still possible to just walk in, but you may have to wait longer to be seen.
✅ MIIUs treat:
sprains, simple fractures, simple wounds, minor burns, minor head injuries with no loss of consciousness, minor illnesses (earaches, sore throats etc), rashes, bites, stings, infections and eye conditions like conjunctivitis. You can also get emergency contraception.
❌They *do not* treat head injuries with loss of consciousness, alcohol related conditions, overdoses, complicated or serious injuries, long standing or major illnesses.
Find the locations of the MIIUs and more information about them here: www.ghc.nhs.uk/our-teams-and-services/miius/ or on the ASAP Glos NHS website and app. ... See MoreSee Less
The energy price cap has risen by 0.2% taking the average annual energy bill to £1,758. This increase may seem small, but energy bills are still 69% higher (around £700 more) than in winter 2020/21.
With the wider cost of living crisis, many people have less ability to absorb these costs.
If you're struggling to keep up with energy bills, or already dealing with energy debt, you don't have to manage it alone.
Our Warm & Well partner service can help with:
💡 practical, personalised energy advice
💸 energy grants and funding, such as the Warm Homes Local Grant
📞 speaking to your energy supplier on your behalf
🤝 support to manage or reduce energy debt.
Don’t wait until things feel unmanageable - reach out today.

Do you need support with paying Council Tax? 🏠
With the cost of living rising, it’s more important than ever to make sure you’re getting all the support you’re entitled to.
If you’re on a low income or receive certain benefits, you could get up to 100% off your Council Tax bill through Council Tax Support. You can apply whether you own your home, rent, are unemployed, or working.
Eligibility depends on things like your household income, savings, pensions, and whether you have children living with you.
Benefits are entitlements, not hand outs, which are there for everyone when struggling. When people don’t claim, everyone loses - individuals suffer, communities weaken, and inequality deepens.
